Astronaut arrested in bizarre love triangle

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An astronaut drove from Houston to Florida, donned a disguise and confronted a woman she believed was romantically involved with a space shuttle pilot she was in love with, police said. She was charged with attempted kidnapping and other counts.

U.S. Navy Capt. Lisa Nowak, 43, who flew last July on a shuttle mission to the international space station, was also charged with attempted vehicle burglary with battery, destruction of evidence and battery. She was denied bail and is expected in court Tuesday morning.





When she found out that Shipman was flying to Orlando from Houston, Nowak decided to confront her, according to the arrest affidavit. Nowak drove the 900-mile trip from Houston to Orlando wearing diapers, police said.

Dressed in a wig and a trench coat, Nowak boarded an airport bus that Shipman took to her car in an airport parking lot. Shipman told police she noticed someone following her, hurried inside the car and locked the doors, according to the arrest affidavit.

Love Triangles -

"Deception always leaves one spouse either deeply hurt, or totally unaware."

The term "love triangle" almost always implies that the arrangement is unsuitable to one or more of the people involved.

Though rare, love triangles have been known to lead to murder or suicide committed by the rejected lover in real life.

Someone's bound to get hurt... in most cases, such as this one, there are children and spouses involved. These days, most love triangles do lead to murder. Look at Clara, David Harris and Gail Bridges. I'm sure there are more to be listed here, that's just the first one to come to mind, only because David Harris was my childrens orthodontist and it all went down here in my neighborhood.

Infidelity Rates Rises Again
Infidelity rates seem to have climbed for the 12th
consecutive year, according to the American Society for Cultural Information.

American marriage seems to be ever becoming a dark and hurtful place. People who love each other enough to pledge eternal commitment and live under the same roof are deliberately deceiving each other more often with each passing year.

"For sure technology has contributed to infidelity," says Schwartz. "The fact that with cars and planes you can be in another city, there are cell phones as opposed to work and home phones, and with the Internet you can find people without moving out — it creates an environment where extramarital affairs are possible."

By all accounts, experts say the infidelity rate is higher among couples dating and living together — including those in long-term relationships — than among married couples. But even if technology has made cheating easy, some experts say there is little evidence of a rise in serial cheats, although there are numerous signs that serial monogamy is on the rise.

Five Weird Things About Me

Well, I was "tagged" by Porta's Cat.

So... in fullfilling the "tag", here goes...

First off, I told PC that it wouldn't be easy to come up with five "weird" things about myself! He laughed, better yet, I thought he was going to go in to a coronary from all the laughter!! Apparently he feels and thinks that I exude "weirdness".... Go figure!!! lol... yet, I'm a Queen! HA!

Ok, ok...

1. I can not sleep with the closet door open, and if there is a door facing my bedroom door, one or the other has to be shut, not both of them, just one of them. I can sleep with my bedroom door open, but the bathroom door faces my bedroom door, so... the bathroom door will be closed. This all comes down to being scarred as a child, told that the Llorrona would come after me. I just somehow, always pictured her standing by the doorway, waiting to take me.

2. I also can't sleep with the window shades drawn or the curtains open, cracked, you name it.... Again, my parents had buried one of our pets, right under my bedroom window... Call it brotherly love, they use to always tell me that "PeeWee" was going to dig himself out and appear at my window. *PC feeds on this scarred tissue of my younger years... lol...

3. I have this "thing" about washing my hands, constantlly... no matter what I'm doing, before I start on to something else, I have a tendancy to wash my hands, and if I forget.... I immediately go wash them.

4. There's this thing about coffee and me... I'm told at work that I am surgically attached to my coffee mug. I love coffee.... Give me coffee all day long, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I even drink it room temp... yes, ROOM TEMP! I love the "fufu stuff" in my coffee. Although, I've been told that my Starbucks Caramel Machiato is not good for me "calorie wise" and if I keep drinking them, I'm going to end up with a "Ramen Butt"... lol... Don't get between this Queen and her coffee!!!

5. I can not, I repeat... CAN NOT, leave the house with out making the bed. I keep hearing "You're just going to end up right back in it... Don't care! The bed has to be made! If it doesn't get made up, it's cuz I'm running extremely late, the apt is on fire, or Useless is climbing on the Christmas tree!!!

lol... I'm worried, that was too easy for me, I can still think of a few other things...

So, now I have to tag a five other people!!! Here is where paybacks come to play!!!

Virgin Dragon Prepares to Give Birth

I'll start to worry if the female species of humans start having the capability of reproducing asexually.

Virgin Komodo Dragon Becomes Pregnant With 7 Babies Without Any Male Help.

She is carrying seven baby Komodo dragons.

Other reptile species reproduce asexually in a process known as parthenogenesis.

"But we certainly won't be naming any of the hatchlings Jesus."

"It's baffling why a species starts doing this," said Kevin de Queiroz, a research zoologist at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, who was not involved with the paper. "It would be helpful to know how often this happens and what the mechanism is that allows them do that."

A Wonderful Woman

I'm reposting one that I have on 360. I chose this because this poem describes exactly how I try to live my life. Women have a high expectation of themselves, atleast I know I do and I know of several close friends that do as well... I strive to be this woman and hope that I can continue to strive to be just that. I'm not perfect, but I definitely want to be that Wonderful Woman as described by Pam Fraser. This goes out to all the women out there that know exactly where I'm coming from on this post.

A wonderful woman is proud.

She respects herself and others.

She is aware of who she is.

She neither seeks definition from the person she is within,

nor does she expect the people she knows to read her mind.

She is quite capable of articulating her needs.

A wonderful woman is hopeful.

She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true.

She knows love; therefore she gives all her love.

She recognizes that her love has great value and must be shared

if her love is taken for granted, it will soon disappear.

A wonderful woman has a dash of inspiration and a dabble of endurance.

She knows that she will at times have to inspire others.
