Career Change ....... ?
Good thoughts and prayers are needed today...
I've been seeing a new road ahead of me now for a year, and things became clearer and clearer as time went by.
Well, as some of you may know, I'm a computer technician and work with the local school district. I have worked in the same school district now for over 10 years, wearing many different hats. I have to say that they were all very satisfying and interesting... I have gone from a lunch room monitor, to a school bus driver to a secretary to my current position as a computer tech. Although I do love my job and I get a great satisfaction from being able to work on something with my hands and walk away knowing that I repaired something and got a co-worker back on track with the importance of their job, I also have the satisfaction of knowing that I can rebuild a computer and have it up and running.... but it's time... I feel God is calling me to something new. He called me to a whole new life over a year ago, and I have been very thankful for my new life.
I have prayed on this for quite some time and have left it in Gods hands. I'd been looking for the same position within other school districts, hoping to continue my teacher retirement plus keep some of the benefits from working with a school district, but nothing has come through.
Yesterday it came to my attention that there is a job opening at a local Plant and the opening is working in the lab. This would take me from earning $26,000 to $38 a year. I'd be nuts not to look in to this! Am I nervous, yes!!!!! and I mean YES!!!
With the support of my loving PC, he encouraged me and is supporting me to follow up on this position. So.... I'll be headed out to the Plant this afternoon around 3pm to check out the Plant, the office, what the job entails and get some more info on the Company and what they have to offer their employees.
So... good thoughts and prayers are needed. I feel strong that God is leading me in this direction. It's all in His hands in the end. Either way, I see many good things in my future!
