9/11 Thoughts
As the day began, I wondered exactly how this day would go, how would people remember the lives of loved ones taken from us, the heroes that fought past the ashes and rubble, the enemy... Would they remember?
I realized yesterday that I didn't have a thing to wear to show my pride in my homeland... So, with what I could manage, I bought a T-Shirt and acrylic paints (Red, White & Blue) I painted the image of the flag with the number 2,996 just as the picture posted on our blogs ( I hope that I have not infringed on any copyrights at this point, but I was desperate...). I did this last night, in hopes that I could be a voice to those around me. NEVER FORGET!!!
On my drive to work, I searched for the talk radio show that PC and I listen to and not having any success I landed on Pat Gray, morning show host on 950 AM KPRC in Houston, Texas. hey were discussing the movie that was aired last night, The Path of 9/11 and other documentaries. I did not view any of these shows, but my heart was in the right place as I was desperately trying to finish my shirt. Anyway, Pat was also asking listeners to call in and share where they were on that dreadful day and had we felt a change in our lives since that day. I have to say that alot has changed in my eyes, more recently than it did back then... Yes, it pained me and killed me to hear of the evil that exists in our world, but since I've met many wonderful people here in the blog world, my stance has become stronger for my country, our military men and women, and our president. I thought I was a hardcore supporter before, but it's stronger now...

As I arrived to work, not many staff members wore anything Red, White and Blue. One staff member did and complimented me on my efforts with my shirt as well. We stood tall. As school began and the announcements came on for the day, we had students focus on 9/11 with a moment of silence after a 6th grade student played "TAPS" to honor all the victims of 9/11... there's nothing more to be said... chills went through me and tears flowed along with them...
