NEEMO 9
Well, today was a very interesting and educational day here at work! It's days like this that makes my job even more enjoyable!
I was able to take part in a Video Conference with the Aquatic Crew from NEEMO 9, after overlooking and setting up the technology equipment the last two days. We tested the VCon Unit yesterday and after tweaking the few gliches we were experiencing with the microphone, we were ready today for the big event.
We connected with NASA at 8:50 am and were viewing live feed with the Aquanauts via satellite television off the Floriday Keys in no time. Our students were able to ask the aquanauts various questions in reference to their living conditions, sleeping conditions and research projects.
This is where my job is priceless... to see technology at hand and view the looks on these kids faces during and after taking part of such an event. I've included some pictures of what we were viewing during the Video Conference.
If you are just a tad interested here is some more information on NEEMO.
