Heroes and Real Men
Since Patrick over at Born Again Redneck posted his blog about "Real Men", that are more worthy of "us" women to admire and get starry eyed over, I have been left thinking quite a bit. Just how many men in our day to day living don't get that acknowledgement outright and matter-of-factly. We are so ready to voice our thoughts on a "hollywood" actor, someone famous, but we hesitate at times to voice our thoughts and feelings of a "real" man either standing before us for reasons that society has brandished on us.
I got the pleasure of making the acquaintenance of a very wonderful woman through myspace. When I originally posted my blog on At A Loss For Words - Thank You Patrick... I ofcourse immediately thought of my father and my brothers and those that were along side them. For some reason, I also instantly thought of Jane and her father and brother. She has the same love and devotion that I share for our men in uniform and holds with high regard, respect and devotion to her father and brother. I "feel" her loss, even though I have only lost my father and still have my brothers. I hold Jane very dear to my heart for her loss, her love and devotion that she carries with pride.
So, with her permission I honor two men in her life that are very dear to her. Thank you Jane for allowing me to pay my respects to your father and your brother. I am very honored. My love and highest respect to your father and brother, and to you!
